About the Role

The COURIER role at DHL Express is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical, customer service, and logistical skills. As a courier, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering time-sensitive materials in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that customers receive their packages safely and on time. This role is an integral part of the DHL Express team, working closely with customers, dispatch teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery operations.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a courier are varied and demanding, requiring a high level of physical fitness, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Couriers must be able to navigate through heavy traffic, manage complex delivery routes, and handle cash and other forms of payment. In addition to these technical skills, couriers must also possess excellent customer service skills, as they are often the face of the company and interact with customers on a daily basis.

The courier team at DHL Express is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a courier, you will be expected to work independently, using your own initiative and judgment to overcome challenges and achieve your goals. What You Will Do

  • Pick up and deliver time-sensitive materials in a timely and efficient manner
  • Drive a company vehicle to customer sites, climbing in and out of the vehicle and walking up and down stairs as required
  • Handle and deliver packages safely and punctually, considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, and driving conditions
  • Collect customer payments for duty packages delivered under COD service type
  • Submit delivered invoices and collected payments to Finance daily
  • Confirm all deliveries and collections with dispatch by radio
  • Operate a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered
  • Maintain good work habits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures
  • Report any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to the Lead Courier immediately
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time

  • Valid General Driver's License - 3000 kg or above and older than 3 years

  • Map reading and GPS skills and knowledge of delivery area preferred
  • Previous professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role
