About the Role

The Creator & Influencer Marketing Lead position at Perplexity is a senior role designed to spearhead the company's entire creator and influencer marketing function. This multifaceted position requires a strategic mindset to define the company's influencer marketing strategy, aligning it with Perplexity's overarching priorities. The role involves managing large-scale campaigns that encompass over 100 creators, multiple channels, and substantial budgets, necessitating a performance marketing mindset that ties creator work directly to key business outcomes.

Day-to-day, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the creator and influencer marketing function from strategy through to execution, ensuring that all campaigns are not only creatively sophisticated but also aligned with the company's business objectives. The role involves working closely with various departments, including Growth, Product, Business, and Communications, acting as the connective tissue between creator marketing and the broader company goals.

Given the senior nature of the role, the Creator & Influencer Marketing Lead will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, making strategic decisions and driving the function forward with minimal supervision. This includes developing and maintaining a network of creator and agency relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing budgets to ensure the maximum impact of Perplexity's product launches.

What You Will Do

  • Lead Perplexity's creator and influencer marketing function, defining the strategy and overseeing its execution.
  • Manage the execution of large-scale campaigns spanning multiple creators, channels, and budgets.
  • Contract and negotiate with creators for one-off campaigns and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure the maximization of Perplexity product launches by deploying the right creator mix, budget, and channels.
  • Foster a performance marketing mindset, partnering with the Growth team to drive conversion and engagement.
  • Provide direction and feedback to creators to elevate the quality of their work.
  • Review and approve creator 'builds' made with Perplexity Computer, ensuring they showcase the product's capabilities effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a community of creators through events and in-person interactions.
  • Build and manage a team of contractors and agencies to support the creator marketing function.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to integrate creator marketing into the company's overall strategy.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creator/influencer or performance marketing, with a focus on leading a function or building it from the ground up.
