About the Role

As a Customer Engineer at Cloudflare, you will be at the forefront of the company's technical go-to-market strategy, serving as a trusted advisor to customers and driving the technical relationship from discovery to long-term adoption and expansion. This role is critical in helping Cloudflare achieve its mission to build a better Internet by partnering with customers to understand their evolving business goals and aligning them with Cloudflare's product roadmap. The Customer Engineer will operate as a quota-carrying technologist, utilizing AI-augmented workflows to eliminate administrative tasks and focus on high-value architectural design and driving business outcomes. You will be part of the GTM organization and report to the Regional Customer Engineering Leader, working closely with Account Executives to lead technical discovery and deliver compelling product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts.

What You Will Do

  • Partner closely with Account Executives to lead technical discovery and build bespoke architectures for customers
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts across Cloudflare's portfolio
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire customer lifecycle
  • Own the long-term technical relationship across the entire customer lifecycle
  • Carry a variable quota tied directly to new business acquisition and/or ongoing account growth
  • Ensure deep platform adoption, retain revenue, and identify strategic cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews to translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives
  • Utilize AI-augmented workflows to automate tasks and focus on high-value activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and effective communication

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role, preferably in the cloud security or networking industry
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and developer platforms
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with technical discovery, proof of concepts, and product demonstrations
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of customer needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with GTM strategies and technical sales
  • Knowledge of AI-augmented workflows and automation
