About the Role
The Customer Service Manager position at GE Vernova is a unique opportunity to lead the service execution of outages and projects on GE's Fossil installed base of steam turbines. As a member of the Steam Power Americas Fossil team, you will be responsible for planning and executing outages and projects with excellence in quality, safety, schedule compliance, profitability, and high customer satisfaction.The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of steam turbine and generator maintenance, as well as the ability to manage complex outages and projects. You will be an indispensable business leader, with excellent technical knowledge and strong commercial skills.
The role requires a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to work remotely and travel up to 50% of the time. You will be the single point of contact for customers, responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships, and providing ongoing technical and business support.
What You Will Do
- Act as the single point of contact for customers, providing technical and business support
- Establish and maintain relationships with assigned customers in designated geographic regions
- Plan and execute outages and projects with excellence in quality, safety, schedule compliance, profitability, and high customer satisfaction
- Manage the commercial business needs of the assigned portfolio, including project estimating, contract negotiation, project execution, billing, and collection
- Oversee transactional proposals, extra work, and job cost estimator proposals for assigned customers
- Negotiate concessions and drive emergent work for major repair projects
- Establish work scope, pricing, and drive fulfillment excellence, including EHS, quality, schedule, productivity, and cost
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, finance, sales, sourcing, affiliates, risk, parts, and repairs
- Drive customer satisfaction and growth, while ensuring minimal acceptable financial impact to GE
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role in the power generation industry or similar industry
- Knowledge of steam turbine and generator design, operations, and maintenance
- Experience planning and executing outages
- Familiarity with contracts and service agreements
- Strong quality background, with Black Belt certification preferred
- Strong leadership, financial, and commercial skills
- Team leader experience in a dynamic, energetic, and proactive environment
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
- Experience establishing credibility and developing relationships with challenging customers
Nice to Have
- Experience with GE, Alstom, and other manufacturers' fossil steam turbines and generators
- Knowledge of power generation equipment and industry trends
- Experience with project management tools and software
