The Customs Agent plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of import, export, and transshipment procedures for documents, packages, and merchandise. What You Will Do

  • Prepare and submit customs forms for import, export, and transshipment procedures
  • Manage customs clearance procedures to ensure timely and efficient processing of shipments
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs and tax laws and regulations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve customs-related issues
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of customs documentation
  • Conduct inspections of shipments to ensure compliance with customs regulations
  • Interface with customs officials and internal operation employees to facilitate customs activities
  • Prepare international manifests to ensure efficient customs clearance
  • Accomplish accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages
  • Ensure the station's full compliance with country customs and tax laws

What We Are Looking For

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in international freight/cargo customs policies, procedures, rules, and laws
  • Fluent English skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Knowledge of airport and customs clearance procedures
  • Personable and good written and verbal communication skills
  • General office skills and computer literacy
  • Driver's license

  • Experience working with customs-specific software and technology
  • Knowledge of FedEx policies, procedures, practices, and rules
  • Certification in customs procedures or international trade
