About the Role
The Cyber Prioritisation Lead is a critical position within Telstra's cyber security function, responsible for developing and implementing a threat-informed prioritisation structure. This role is at the heart of Telstra's cyber security efforts, driving decisions on where to focus resources and efforts to mitigate potential threats. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, able to engage and influence stakeholders across the organisation. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve analyzing complex cyber security data, identifying key threats, and developing prioritisation models to guide the organisation's response. This will require close collaboration with various teams, including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response. The role reports to senior leadership and will involve presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders. The success of this role is crucial to Telstra's overall cyber security posture, and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation's ability to respond to emerging threats.What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain a threat-informed prioritisation model, incorporating inputs from threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their priorities and concerns, and to communicate the cyber security priorities and rationale
- Collaborate with the Red Team to validate the prioritisation model and identify areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of the prioritisation model
- Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies, and adjust the prioritisation model accordingly
- Provide training and guidance to other teams on the prioritisation model and its application
- Develop and maintain documentation of the prioritisation model and its underlying assumptions
- Participate in regular review and update of the prioritisation model to ensure it remains relevant and effective
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and cohesion in cyber security efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners
What We Are Looking For
- Strong experience in cyber security, with a focus on threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Proven ability to develop and implement prioritisation models, using data-driven approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop insights
- Experience working with threat intelligence platforms and tools, such as OpenCTI
- Strong understanding of risk-based approaches, such as Cyber Risk and PIR
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
- Strong working knowledge of CTI, SOC, vulnerability management, and offensive security
- Experience partnering with Red Teams to validate prioritisation models and identify areas for improvement
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a large, complex organisation, with multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R, and experience with data analysis and visualization tools
- Experience with agile project management methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Certification in cyber security, such as CISSP or CISM
