About the Role

As a Data Annotation Specialist at Cohere, you will be responsible for improving the performance of Large Language Models by providing high-quality training data. Your expertise in Modern Standard Arabic will be instrumental in helping machines understand the nuances of human language. You will work closely with a team of researchers, engineers, and designers to ensure that the data you annotate meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

The role entails labeling and ranking machine learning data, auditing and correcting inaccuracies, and completing reading and text-based tasks with high attention to detail. Your work will have a direct impact on the development of AI systems that can understand and generate human-like language. What You Will Do

  • Label and rank machine learning data with advanced proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic
  • Audit and correct inaccuracies in language data, including text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, and Markdown
  • Complete reading and text-based assignments with high attention to detail
  • Evaluate and complete tasks, assessing which responses in Modern Standard Arabic best conform to project guidelines
  • Recommend optimizations for improving data quality and model performance in Modern Standard Arabic language tasks
  • Provide feedback to cross-functional team members, particularly on Modern Standard Arabic language-related matters
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail while performing repetitive and precise tasks
  • Work independently and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve issues

What We Are Looking For

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic
  • Excellent command over English
  • Basic familiarity with JSON/TSV/CSV/Markdown data manipulation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and navigate ambiguity
