About the Role
The Data Center Portfolio Planning & Execution Lead will play a critical role in driving the planning and framework for Anthropic's rapidly scaling compute infrastructure. This involves translating capacity supply pipeline into integrated project plans, building tooling and automation, and maintaining a datacenter capacity catalog. The successful candidate will have experience in managing the full datacenter buildout lifecycle and have a strong understanding of the technical and operational aspects of data center planning and execution.As a key member of the team, the Data Center Portfolio Planning & Execution Lead will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure smooth delivery of data center projects. This includes managing the portfolio schedule and catalog, defining and running stage gates and decision locks, and driving gate reviews and exception management. The role also involves developing tooling and automation to enable cross-functional planning flow-down from datacenter capacity availability dates.
What You Will Do
- Manage the integrated master plan for each site across the portfolio, including power ramp, design, construction, sourcing, deployment, and operations readiness
- Develop and maintain Anthropic's datacenter catalog for deployed and in-progress capacity
- Define and run the stage gates and decision locks for cluster delivery, from lease execution to design lock through procurement, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and handover
- Drive gate reviews, manage exceptions, and track the downstream impact of deviations across the portfolio
- Manage portfolio reviews and risk tracking for DC Infra leadership and Compute Supply
- Develop tooling and automation to enable cross-functional planning flow-down from datacenter capacity availability dates
- Partner with Design, Supply Chain, Construction, and DC Ops program leads to drive cross-pillar process improvements as portfolio scales
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure successful delivery of data center projects
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with data center projects, including schedule risks, budget risks, and operational risks
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in managing the full datacenter buildout lifecycle, including pipeline, design, sourcing, construction, and deployment
- Strong understanding of the technical and operational aspects of data center planning and execution
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and insights
- Experience with data center capacity planning, including capacity management and forecasting
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking systems
- Experience with project management tools, including Smartsheet, P6, and other planning software
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-assisted development, including stand-up planning dashboards, schedule automation, and data pipelines
- Knowledge of cloud-based data center infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Experience with data center operations, including facility management, maintenance, and repair
- Strong understanding of data center security, including physical security, network security, and compliance
