About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Commonroom, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling data pipelines to support the growth of the business. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and sales, to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible.The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in building and managing large-scale data systems. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and make recommendations for how to leverage these to drive business growth.

What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines to support business growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop solutions
- Work with ETL pipelines and data warehouses to ensure data is accurate and reliable
- Develop and implement data governance policies to ensure data quality and security
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and make recommendations for how to leverage these
- Work with the engineering team to develop and implement new data-driven features
- Collaborate with the product team to develop data-driven product roadmaps
- Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to support business decision-making
- Work with the sales team to develop data-driven sales strategies
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong technical background in computer science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience with ETL pipelines and data warehouses
- Experience with AWS, Postgres, and Node.js
- Strong understanding of data governance and data security principles
- Experience with data visualization tools and technologies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Strong understanding of customer-centricity and the ability to develop solutions that meet customer needs
Nice to Have
- Experience with TypeGraphQL and Apollo/Express
- Experience with Kafka and event processing
- Experience with ClickHouse and Snowflake
- Experience with React and front-end development
- Certification in data engineering or a related field
