About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Bluelight Consulting, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and implementing data models, managing data pipelines, and ensuring data quality. You will work closely with the analytics and business teams to identify opportunities for data-driven growth and develop solutions to support business intelligence tools.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain data models for core package application and reporting databases
  • Design and implement data pipelines to support business intelligence tools
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to identify opportunities for data-driven growth
  • Develop and maintain data quality processes to ensure production data is accurate and reliable
  • Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes
  • Implement data governance and data security best practices
  • Work with stakeholders to design and implement data visualization solutions
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for data systems and processes
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new data systems and processes
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to develop and implement data engineering standards and best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably with a focus on data modeling and data pipeline development
  • Strong foundation in data engineering principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
  • Experience with data integration platforms, such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, or Talend OpenStudio
  • Knowledge of database technologies, including SQLServer, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS
  • Experience with data quality processes and data security best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
  • Experience with cloud-based data systems, such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence
  • Knowledge of data science principles and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
  • Experience with data engineering tools, such as Apache Beam or Apache Spark
  • Certification in data engineering or a related field
