About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Bluelight Consulting, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and implementing data models, managing data pipelines, and ensuring data quality. What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain data models for core package application and reporting databases
- Design and implement data pipelines to support business intelligence tools
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to identify opportunities for data-driven growth
- Develop and maintain data quality processes to ensure production data is accurate and reliable
- Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes
- Implement data governance and data security best practices
- Work with stakeholders to design and implement data visualization solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data systems and processes
- Participate in the design and implementation of new data systems and processes
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to develop and implement data engineering standards and best practices
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably with a focus on data modeling and data pipeline development
- Strong foundation in data engineering principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
- Experience with data integration platforms, such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, or Talend OpenStudio
- Knowledge of database technologies, including SQLServer, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS
- Experience with data quality processes and data security best practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
- Experience with cloud-based data systems, such as AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Knowledge of data science principles and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
- Experience with data engineering tools, such as Apache Beam or Apache Spark
- Certification in data engineering or a related field
