About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Bluelight Consulting, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining data models for core package applications and reporting databases. What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain data models for core package applications and reporting databases
- Monitor execution and performance of daily pipelines, triage and escalate issues
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and data pipelines
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data accuracy
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using various data integration platforms
- Work with multiple data sources, including Salesforce and Excel
- Develop and maintain databases using various database technologies, such as SQLServer, Redshift, and Postgres
- Ensure data governance and data quality principles are followed
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data pipelines and data models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data models and data pipelines
What We Are Looking For
- Experience with AWS services, including S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue
- Ability to solve complex issues with operating clusters
- Experience with data integration platforms, such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, or Talend OpenStudio
- Knowledge of database technologies, including SQLServer, Redshift, and Postgres
- Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
- Experience with collecting, managing, and reporting on large data stores
- Awareness of data governance and data quality principles
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development or related experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with BI tools, such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI
- Familiarity with web services, including XML, REST, and SOAP
- Experience with Git or similar version control software
- Knowledge of data warehouse design, including star-schemas and change data capture
- Experience with multiple RDBMS, including MS SQLServer, Oracle, and MySQL
