About the Role

Data migration is a critical process in any digital transformation project, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of data structures and quality management. As a Data Migration Specialist for SAP S/4HANA, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful migration of data from existing systems to SAP S/4HANA, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing data migration strategies, as well as collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure that data migration meets business requirements.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working with large datasets, analyzing data quality, and developing strategies to improve data integrity. You will also be responsible for coordinating with offshore teams, ensuring that data migration activities are properly planned and executed. As a member of a dynamic team, you will be expected to be flexible and adaptable, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

The success of data migration projects depends on effective collaboration between technical and business stakeholders. As a Data Migration Specialist, you will work closely with business process teams, SAP functional consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that data migration meets business requirements and is properly integrated into overall business processes.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate existing data within the source system to identify data elements, assess data quality, and understand data structures
  • Identify and resolve data issues such as duplicates, missing values, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies
  • Prepare and facilitate data cleansing activities for each country, coordinating with respective teams to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Develop and maintain tracking sheets or dashboards for data quality metrics and communicate progress and issues with the project team
  • Track, manage, and resolve data quality issues and defects identified during or after the migration process
  • Conduct post-migration defect analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Ensure all migration documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for execution
  • Coordinate data mapping requests from various streams, ensuring file completeness
  • Collaborate with functional teams, including Business Process Teams and SAP Functional Consultants
  • Assist with data migration cutover activities, including validation and post-migration validation

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in data assessment, cleansing, and quality management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, reconcile data, and present insights through clear, easy-to-understand visualizations
  • Strong MS Office knowledge and experience, particularly with Excel
  • Experience extracting data from ECC would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA data models and master data
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, capable of managing plans, tracking progress, and working with offshore teams
  • Experience in defect analysis, trend identification, and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with data migration processes and best practices in SAP environments

  • SNP Data Migration experience is beneficial
