About the Role

Supabase is seeking a seasoned Data Platform Reliability Engineer to join its Infra Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Postgres and experience in managing database operations at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the health, performance, and reliability of Supabase's platform database infrastructure on AWS RDS.
  • Design strategies for low-downtime major version upgrades and database migrations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues.
  • Build comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability for database systems.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Postgres internals, architecture, and advanced features.
  • Production experience with replication, backups, and disaster recovery in cloud environments.
  • Strong command of query optimization, EXPLAIN plans, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
