As part of the centralized Risk, Analytics, and Data Science team, this position will focus on analyzing trends, identifying areas for improvement, and delivering data-driven recommendations to enhance the user experience while managing operational costs effectively. As a Data Scientist in this team, you will be working closely with cross-functional partners, including Analytics, Operations, Product, and Engineering, to optimize claim processes and drive business growth.

What You Will Do
- Identify areas for process and product enhancements to improve claim operations, servicing, and fulfillment
- Analyze usage trends and anomalies in claim processes to deliver data-driven recommendations
- Monitor and measure the impact of new product features on claim handling and user experience
- Evaluate and iterate AI-driven solutions to optimize agent behaviors and ensure stability of agent interactions
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and metrics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements
- Cultivate a data-driven culture by translating complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives and visualizations
- Partner with Analytics, Operations, Product, and Engineering to optimize claim intake, adjudication, and fulfillment product features
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data science and analytics
- Develop and maintain documentation of data sources, methodologies, and results
- Present findings and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of Extend's data strategy and roadmap
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on analytics and data-driven decision making
- Advanced skills in Excel, including data modeling, visualization, and analysis
- Experience working with large datasets and performing statistical analysis
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and tools
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience with SQL and data querying languages
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and models
