About the Role

The DB Client Leader I role is a strategic and client-facing position that oversees the daily pension operations for assigned clients. As a key member of the defined benefit team, you will contribute to developing functional business plans and strategies, ensuring effective service delivery to clients and achieving business objectives. Your expertise will be crucial in driving business growth and building strong relationships with clients.

In this role, you will lead a team of professionals, providing guidance and direction to deliver high-quality service and support to clients. Your ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate effectively will be essential in translating strategic direction into team vision and deliverables. What You Will Do

  • Lead the defined benefit client delivery team in developing and implementing strategic plans to meet client needs and business goals
  • Provide guidance and direction to the team in delivering high-quality service and support to clients
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and execution of client initiatives
  • Monitor industry trends and Canadian pension standards to proactively address client needs and maintain compliance
  • Oversee the development and delivery of client reports, presentations, and communications
  • Build and maintain lasting client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving
  • Develop and manage Defined Benefit talent within the organization
  • Contribute to developing functional business plans and strategies
  • Ensure effective service delivery to clients and achieve business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • Extensive experience in defined benefit client management or related roles
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate effectively
  • Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in defined benefit
  • Relevant background in finance, business, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree (business context preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in DC and a variety of client experiences

  • Knowledge of Canadian pension standards and regulations
  • Certification in a related field (e.g., CPA, CFA)
