This role requires a deep understanding of complex enterprise transactions, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate emerging commercial requirements into scalable solutions. As a key member of the Finance and Revenue Operations team, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of partner-led and marketplace-enabled enterprise transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deal desk operations, commercial strategy, and cloud partnerships. You will be responsible for assessing risk, recommending practical paths forward, and influencing senior stakeholders to drive business growth. With Openai's commitment to innovation and customer experience, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's commercial infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the Deal Desk subject matter expert, partnering cross-functionally to structure and execute complex AWS Marketplace and partner-led enterprise transactions
  • Establish clear governance and guardrails for partner-led deals, advising on transaction structures and assessing their downstream impact on contracting, billing, and revenue recognition
  • Translate emerging commercial requirements into scalable quote-to-cash workflows and systems requirements, identifying friction points to drive process improvements and automation
  • Assess the downstream operational and financial impact of proposed deal structures across contracting, billing, revenue recognition, and auditability
  • Build repeatable execution mechanisms, including approval matrices, standard operating procedures, and playbooks to strengthen commercial motion
  • Support private offer structuring and execution on a day-to-day basis
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment on deal structures and commercial strategies
  • Work closely with the legal and finance teams to ensure compliance and risk management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including AWS partners and internal teams
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in deal desk operations and cloud partnerships

What We Are Looking For

  • Typically 7+ years of individual contributor experience in Deal Desk, Commercial Operations, channel sales, or a related enterprise SaaS/cloud-commercial function
  • Expertise in structuring and executing complex, non-standard enterprise transactions and building scalable processes, controls, and playbooks
  • Strong command of quote-to-cash (QTC) processes, including the downstream operational and financial impact on contracting, billing, and revenue recognition
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk, recommend clear paths forward, and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders (including Sales, Legal, and Finance) without formal authority
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise commercial systems like Salesforce, CPQ, and marketplace tooling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS Marketplace and cloud partnerships
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and platforms
  • Familiarity with AI-powered solutions and their applications in deal desk operations
  • Certification in deal desk operations or a related field
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development and training opportunities

How to Stand Out

  • To stand out in this role, be prepared to provide specific examples of your experience with complex enterprise transactions and deal desk operations.
  • Make sure you have a strong understanding of cloud partnerships and AWS Marketplace, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highlight your analytical and problem-solving skills, and be prepared to walk the interviewer through your thought process.
  • Emphasize your ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Be prepared to discuss your experience with quote-to-cash processes and your ability to identify areas for process improvement and automation.
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions about the company culture and values, and be prepared to discuss how you can contribute to Openai's mission and vision.
