About the Role

The Demand Gen / Growth role at Holocene is a founding hire position that is pivotal in driving the company's growth by generating qualified leads and setting up meetings with key decision-makers in the supply chain and procurement sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a strategic outbound approach that earns the attention of potential clients, leveraging tools like HubSpot to manage and track outreach efforts.

As the top of the funnel, this role requires a high degree of creativity, persistence, and the ability to deeply understand the needs and pain points of target accounts. The ideal candidate will be skilled in researching companies, identifying the right buyers, and crafting hyper-personalized messages that resonate with them. This is not a volume game but a precision play, where every touchpoint is designed to earn attention and build a relationship.

The role involves working closely with the founder on a daily basis, ensuring that the outreach strategy aligns with the company's overall growth objectives. The position demands a high level of organization, the ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills, as the candidate will be the first point of contact for many potential clients.

What You Will Do

  • Research target accounts to understand their supply chain, recent news, and pain points
  • Identify the right buyers within these accounts, such as VPs of Supply Chain, Heads of Procurement, or COOs
  • Write and implement hyper-personalized outbound emails and messages that are designed to earn a reply from cold contacts
  • Build and manage multi-touch sequences across email, LinkedIn, and warm intro paths to maximize outreach effectiveness
  • Mine existing networks and leverage them for introductions and referrals
  • Frame meetings as value exchanges rather than sales pitches, focusing on building relationships and providing value
  • Manage the HubSpot pipeline, tracking all outreach efforts and reporting on conversion rates at every step
  • Coordinate follow-ups from events, podcast appearances, and content seeding to generate inbound interest
  • Work directly with the founder to align outreach strategy with company goals and to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in outbound marketing or sales at a B2B startup, preferably in a context where the brand was not well-known
  • Proven ability to get meetings with high-level decision-makers at target accounts
  • Strong research skills to understand company dynamics, supply chains, and pain points
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft messages that resonate with potential clients
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial context, or the ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM and marketing automation tools
  • Ability to think creatively and outside templates, focusing on angles and personalization
  • Fluency in English, with German being a plus
  • A relentless approach to follow-up without being overly aggressive

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Apollo, Clay, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • A background or interest in the supply chain and procurement sector
  • Certification in marketing or sales, such as HubSpot certification
  • Experience working in a remote setup and managing time effectively in such environments
