About the Role
The Demand Response & Load Management Specialist role at ICF is a unique opportunity to work with nonresidential customers and utility clients to design, implement, and scale demand response and load management programs across the United States. As a specialist, you will work directly with customers to identify flexible load opportunities, develop program participation strategies, and provide technical guidance on energy efficiency. What You Will Do
- Support the design, startup, and scaling of nonresidential demand response and load management programs
- Conduct facility-level assessments to understand energy loads, controls, and customer priorities
- Work directly with customers to identify flexible load opportunities and develop program participation strategies
- Develop and deliver clear, practical guidance on energy efficiency and demand response
- Manage project workstreams, including schedules, deliverables, and budgets
- Coordinate with multifunctional teams, including program operations, engineering, and analytics
- Contribute to reports, presentations, and analyses supporting program design and client decision-making
- Identify and resolve issues, improve program performance, and develop process improvements
- Travel approximately 25% of the time for domestic client meetings and site visits
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy, facilities management, environmental science, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of relevant experience in nonresidential energy programs, including demand response, load management, energy efficiency, or facility energy management
- Strong customer-facing skills and experience working with nonresidential customers
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with data management tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in developing and delivering presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and customer satisfaction
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in a related technical field
- Experience with energy management systems, building automation systems, or other related technologies
- Certification in energy management, such as CEM or CEFP
- Experience with project management tools and software, such as Asana or Trello
