Job Description

About the Role

The Demo Studio Engineer role at Openai is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, design, and marketing. As a key member of the Demo Studio team, you will be responsible for building demo content, applications, and technical assets that showcase Openai's advanced capabilities. The team operates as a hybrid product studio and live production team, delivering high-impact customer experiences that demonstrate the potential of AI.

The Demo Studio Engineer role is designed to be a growth path into broader demo ownership over time. As you build context and demonstrate strong judgment, you will be given increasingly complex workstreams, more ambiguous problem spaces, and opportunities to own larger pieces of the demo experience.

The role requires technical fluency, strong craft, and an ability to understand how a demo moment fits into a broader story. You will work closely with Demo Studio Leads, Content Leads, product teams, designers, and event production partners to create specific pieces of content for high-impact moments.

What You Will Do

  • Build demo content, applications, workflows, and technical assets for major events, launches, executive programs, booths, breakouts, and scaled content experiences
  • Work from requirements defined by Demo Studio Leads and Content Leads, translating narrative and creative direction into polished execution
  • Create specific demo moments and supporting assets that can be used in live settings, recorded content, digital experiences, sales enablement, and event follow-up
  • Partner with product, engineering, design, marketing, and event production teams to ensure demo content is accurate, reliable, and aligned to the intended story
  • Build and refine prototype applications, agent workflows, screen flows, data-backed experiences, and multimodal demo assets
  • Prepare demo materials for live execution, including system setup, screen records, presenter flows, backup assets, and operational checks
  • Support rehearsals, reviews, and iteration cycles by making fast, high-quality updates based on feedback from Leads and stakeholders
  • Help adapt live demo moments into scaled assets such as explainers, web modules, short-form clips, booth content, and customer-facing materials
  • Contribute to shared demo systems, reusable components, documentation, and best practices that improve quality and speed across the Demo Studio

What We Are Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience building demos, prototypes, technical content, applications, or interactive experiences
  • Technical fluency and comfort working with APIs, AI systems, data, modern development tools, and product workflows
  • Ability to translate creative and narrative direction into concrete technical execution
  • Strong attention to detail and care deeply about craft, reliability, usability, and polish
  • Comfort working in high-stakes environments such as launches, conferences, executive demos, or live event settings
  • Ability to move quickly through iteration while maintaining high-quality output
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and containerization (e.g., Docker)
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with machine learning or deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Knowledge of computer vision, natural language processing, or other AI-related fields
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with front-end development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology company
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • Access to the latest tools and technologies
  • Comprehensive health insurance and retirement plan
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • Employee wellness and mental health support
