About the Role
The Deployed Product Manager, Codex, is a pivotal role at Openai, focused on maximizing product deployment for customers. This position requires a unique blend of technical acumen, product vision, and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate will act as the product lead within strategic customer accounts, identifying opportunities for deeper deployment and driving cross-functional execution to achieve long-term account growth.As a key member of the Openai team, the Deployed Product Manager will work closely with Deployment Engineers, GTM teams, and other stakeholders to overcome technical blockers and drive successful implementations. This role sits at the intersection of product, technical deployment, and customer strategy, making it an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy navigating complex environments and building trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working hands-on with integrations, tooling, and lightweight technical workflows to unblock accounts, as well as partnering with internal teams to translate customer needs into clear product feedback and execution paths. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating across strategy, execution, and hands-on problem-solving, with a bias toward action, ownership, and unblocking.
What You Will Do
- Act as the product lead inside strategic customer accounts to help customers adopt and expand their use of Openai products
- Identify opportunities for deeper deployment, new integrations, and broader product usage across teams and workflows
- Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, engineering leaders, and executives, including representing product vision to C-level audiences
- Partner closely with Deployment Engineers and GTM teams to drive successful implementations and long-term account growth
- Translate customer needs and technical blockers into clear product feedback and execution paths for internal teams
- Work hands-on with integrations, MCPs, tooling, and lightweight technical workflows when needed to unblock an account
- Own lightweight PM work needed to support enterprise deployment, then hand off the right insights and opportunities to core product teams
- Drive cross-functional execution to achieve long-term account growth and overcome technical blockers
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer goals and objectives, and translate them into deployment strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and prioritize product opportunities and drive follow-through across multiple teams

- Strong technical fluency and comfort working directly with engineers
- Strong product instincts, especially around identifying customer needs and translating them into product opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to present product strategy and deployment vision clearly to senior customer audiences
- Comfort operating across strategy, execution, and hands-on problem solving
- Bias toward action, ownership, and unblocking
- Background as a technical founder, product founder, technical PM, solutions or product lead, or in another role that combines technical depth with product judgment and customer-facing execution
- Experience working in highly ambiguous environments and being the connective tissue between customers, engineering, GTM, and product
- Strong understanding of AI deployment and its applications
