## About the Role As a Developer Advocate at Openai, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI development, working closely with the Developer Experience team to empower developers and startups to build on the Openai platform. Your day-to-day will involve creating high-quality technical content, engaging with the developer community, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive adoption and success of Openai's APIs and developer tools. The Developer Experience team is a new and dynamic group within Openai, focused on providing a seamless and delightful experience for developers integrating AI into their apps and products.

The role of a Developer Advocate is multifaceted, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, creativity, and community engagement skills. You will be working at the intersection of technology, product, and marketing, with a focus on building strong relationships with key developers and nurturing a vibrant ecosystem around Openai's technologies. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of Openai's platform, and you will be expected to champion developers' needs and provide feedback to inform the product roadmap.

The Developer Experience team partners closely with the product, engineering, and research teams, ensuring that Openai's powerful tools are used responsibly and that safety is prioritized above growth. As a Developer Advocate, you will be an integral part of this effort, working to foster an inclusive and diverse developer community and ensuring that Openai's technologies are accessible and beneficial to all.

## What You Will Do - Create and curate high-quality technical content, such as tutorials, blog posts, videos, and code samples, to educate and inspire developers - Engage with the developer community, building strong relationships and fostering a vibrant ecosystem around Openai's technologies - Gather and organize feedback from developers to inform the product roadmap and improve the overall developer experience - Collaborate closely with the research and API teams to bring the latest cutting-edge models to the Openai platform - Build high-quality sample apps and demos to showcase the capabilities of Openai's APIs and developer tools - Develop and maintain technical documentation, guides, and tutorials to support developers in their integration of AI into their apps and products - Represent Openai at developer events and online forums, serving as a knowledgeable and approachable ambassador for the platform - Work with the marketing team to develop and execute campaigns to drive awareness and adoption of Openai's APIs and developer tools - Contribute to the development and enhancement of all Openai's developer surfaces to provide a seamless experience for developers

## What We Are Looking For - Strong full-stack engineering background, with experience building with AI and LLMs - Proven track record of engaging with developers to help them find success with API-based products - Deep user empathy and an understanding of what's required for a product experience to be great - Creativity and passion for exploring new ways to connect with and empower developers - Pride in crafting delightful developer tools and high-quality demos and sample projects - A history of creating documentation, how-to content, and code that helps developers find success with technical products - Ability to write high-quality code, documentation, and how-to content - Ownership of problems end-to-end, and a willingness to pick up whatever knowledge is missing to get the job done - Team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across different teams and disciplines
