As a Developer Intern at J. J. What You Will Do

  • Participate in the software product development life cycle, including feasibility analysis, project estimating, design, software development, testing, and documentation
  • Assist with the development and support of assigned products and services
  • Provide support for all software and service applications offered by the department
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Adhere to programming standards, including secure coding guidelines
  • Demonstrate awareness of common OWASP security risks and learn how to avoid them through coding best practices and code reviews
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for software applications

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Junior or Senior standing
  • No previous experience required beyond educational requirements
  • Proficiency in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite
  • Completion of web programming courses, including .NET and/or Java development
  • Experience with C# is a plus
  • Completion of a data structures course
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agile development methodologies
