About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer with expertise in ElasticSearch, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data infrastructure. This 3-month contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology stack and collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional results, and we are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for innovation and excellence. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our ElasticSearch cluster, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with our development team to identify and implement improvements, and collaborate with our operations team to ensure seamless data operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, from reviewing and reconfiguring our existing cluster to implementing security controls and improving performance. You will also have the chance to work with the latest ElasticSearch version, 8.8, and contribute to the development of our data infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Review and reconfigure existing ElasticSearch cluster to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Implement security controls, including RBAC, ABAC, and IP filtering
  • Improve performance for read and write operations using Hot-Warm Architecture
  • Optimize storage, documents, and indices for better performance
  • Monitor data streaming and node performance
  • Integrate multiple event log sources
  • Plan for growth and forecast future capacity needs
  • Automate cluster deployment, snapshot, and restoration
  • Deploy Fleet Server and Elastic Agent
  • Generate visualizations and reports

What We Are Looking For

  • Around 6-7 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a focus on ElasticSearch
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and ElasticSearch, with experience deploying ElasticSearch in EKS
  • Strong understanding of security controls, including RBAC, ABAC, and IP filtering
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization
  • Familiarity with data streaming and node monitoring
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including AWS or GCP
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker
