Job Description
## About the Role As a DevOps Engineer at Pavago, your primary focus will be on building, maintaining, and optimizing the company's infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This is a critical role that requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD. Your day-to-day activities will involve ensuring that systems are secure, scalable, and reliable, enabling development teams to ship code quickly and safely.
The role is based on U.S. client business hours, with flexibility for deployments, incident response, and on-call rotations. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Your contribution will be instrumental in driving Pavago's success in the digital marketplace.
## What You Will Do - Provision and manage infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, utilizing your expertise in cloud platforms.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation to streamline infrastructure management.
- Configure networking, storage, and compute resources to scale with demand, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to automate builds, tests, and deployments.
- Ensure rollback strategies and zero-downtime deployments to minimize disruptions and enhance user experience.
- Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, deploying microservices and monitoring cluster health for optimal performance.
- Implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic, and configure logging and alerting pipelines for proactive incident management.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform root cause analysis post-incident to identify areas for improvement.
- Apply cloud security best practices, including IAM, least privilege, and encryption, to protect against cyber threats.
- Support SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, or GDPR compliance in infrastructure, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Run vulnerability scans and patch systems proactively to maintain a secure and compliant infrastructure.
- Proficiency with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure), along with strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, as well as a solid understanding of containerization and orchestration.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure incident scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
- Passion for automation, scalability, and reliability, with a continuous learning mindset.
- Industry background in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or enterprise applications, with a deep understanding of the respective technologies and challenges.
- Familiarity with serverless deployments (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions), along with experience in managing and optimizing serverless architectures.
