About the Role

The DevRel Content Creator role at SuperPlane is a unique opportunity for a skilled technical content creator to join a fast-growing company and help shape the narrative around its innovative open-source control plane. As the first DevRel hire, this role will play a crucial part in establishing SuperPlane's presence in the DevOps and platform engineering community. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality content that showcases SuperPlane's capabilities and provides value to its users.

The role will involve working closely with the product team to develop a deep understanding of SuperPlane's features and capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in DevOps or platform engineering, with experience in creating content that resonates with technical audiences. The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously will be essential in this role.

SuperPlane is a remote-first company with a team of 10, founded by the creators of Semaphore CI/CD. What You Will Do

  • Create high-quality video content, including screencasts, product walkthroughs, and demos that showcase SuperPlane's capabilities
  • Develop working use cases and turn them into blog posts, tutorials, and guides that provide value to SuperPlane's users
  • Build a strong presence in community channels, including Discord, Reddit, Hacker News, and relevant DevOps Slack groups
  • Represent SuperPlane at conferences and meetups, speaking about the company's technology and vision
  • Collaborate with the product team to develop a content strategy that aligns with SuperPlane's goals and objectives
  • Create a consistent publishing cadence, shipping written content and videos on a weekly basis
  • Engage with the community, responding to comments and questions, and surfacing interesting discussions
  • Develop a growing library of use-case demos that the sales and product teams can reference
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in DevOps and platform engineering, applying this knowledge to create relevant and timely content

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong technical background in DevOps or platform engineering, with experience in creating content that resonates with technical audiences
  • Experience in managing deployments, writing CI pipelines, and using tools like Terraform or Kubernetes
  • The ability to write working code, with tutorials that include real, runnable examples
  • Deep product intuition, with the ability to pick up a tool and immediately start exploring what's possible
  • A self-directed and curious approach, with the ability to find the next interesting thing to talk about on your own
  • Experience in producing video content, including screencasts, walkthroughs, and short demos
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team, with the ability to work asynchronously and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A strong understanding of AI tools, including coding agents, LLMs for drafting and review, and AI-assisted prototyping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
