About the Role

The DHS Experienced Case Reviewer position is a critical role that involves scrutinizing reports of investigations submitted by Contract Field Investigators and Contractor Investigation Technicians to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission to the Department of Homeland Security. As a key member of the investigation team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality and production that meets DHS contract requirements and CACI performance expectations. This role is an integral part of the team, working closely with review team members, Quality Assurance Mentors, Quality Assurance Managers, and CFI/CITs to develop training and guidance to improve background investigations.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will involve conducting thorough reviews of background investigations, identifying trends in errors, and communicating these trends to CFIs, CITs, and management. The role will also require providing guidance on DHS investigation requirements to CFI and CITs, ensuring that all investigations adhere to the required standards. With the ability to work remotely, this position offers the flexibility to manage work-life balance, although occasional local travel may be necessary for business meetings.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough reviews of background investigations, including reports of investigation and attachments, to ensure investigations are complete and adhere to DHS and CACI requirements.
  • Provide guidance on DHS investigation requirements to CFI and CITs.
  • Maintain quality and production that meets DHS contract requirements and CACI performance expectations.
  • Identify trends in errors and communicate trends to CFIs, CITs, and management.
  • Work closely with review team members, Quality Assurance Mentors, Quality Assurance Managers, and CFI/CITs to develop training and guidance to improve background investigations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of background investigations.
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve complex issues and provide expert guidance on investigation procedures.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to analyze and present data.
  • Adjust and refine processes as needed to ensure compliance with changing requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of investigations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 12 months of experience conducting quality reviews of background investigations on behalf of the DHS.
  • Current work on the DHS contract.
  • Possession and maintenance of a current favorably adjudicated T5 or T5R background investigation.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship, as required for a federal security clearance.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with individuals by telephone, email, and face to face.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Proficient in using the internet for research and data analysis.
  • Experience with Adjust or similar software for data analysis and reporting.
