About the Role

The Digital Designer role at VALD is a unique opportunity for a creative and talented individual to join a leading company in the health and performance industries. As a Digital Designer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual assets that maintain and strengthen VALD's brand identity across all channels. You will work closely with the marketing, product, and sales teams to turn messaging and ideas into engaging visual content. The role involves designing for a variety of digital applications, with a focus on web design and social media content, while contributing ideas to evolve VALD's visual style.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, sports scientists, designers, developers, and engineers, all working together to create innovative human-measurement technology. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from conceptualization to completion, and will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies.

VALD's Marketing team is a group of skilled professionals across various fields, including designers, videographers, editors, and marketing specialists. The team also includes experienced industry professionals, such as physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, and sports scientists. This diverse team leverages their experience to create content that is relevant and engaging for clients and potential clients, with the goal of making technology more accessible and impactful in their day-to-day practice.

What You Will Do

  • Develop digital design projects from concept to completion
  • Execute digital design projects from concept through to finished assets, with guidance from senior designers when needed
  • Work closely with marketing, product, and sales teams to turn messaging and ideas into engaging visual content
  • Develop intuitive user interfaces and seamless customer journeys through wireframing, prototyping, and layout design
  • Optimize visual elements to ensure a flawless user experience across various devices and screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of user-centric design, usability standards, and customer journey mapping
  • Ensure all digital assets and layouts conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Create and refine visual assets for web, digital advertising, and internal communications
  • Edit, update, and adapt existing designs while maintaining brand consistency and layout integrity
  • Share ideas and contribute to team discussions on design direction and creative solutions
  • Stay aware of current design trends, tools, and best practices to support efficient, high-quality outputs
  • Present design concepts clearly and respond constructively to feedback
  • Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines, staying organized and detail-oriented

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or UX/UI design (or similar)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional design experience
  • High proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Web design experience and understanding of web best practices (basic HTML/CSS knowledge desirable)
  • Knowledge of platform specifications, including aspect ratios, image dimensions, and interface constraints of Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Demonstrated ability to weave strategic narratives through visual design, typography, and layout
  • Strong eye for detail, formatting, and visual hierarchy
  • Excellent ability to interpret, challenge, and work from creative briefs
  • Confident presenting concepts clearly and justifying design decisions
  • Skilled gathering, interpreting, and implementing feedback from multiple stakeholders
  • Capable of managing several projects simultaneously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with design systems and style guides
  • Knowledge of front-end development principles and coding languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Asana or Trello
