About the Role

The Digital Learning Designer I plays a pivotal role in crafting engaging digital learning experiences for InterVarsity staff, volunteers, and campus leaders. This involves designing comprehensive courses, developing compelling content, and overseeing the production of high-quality multimedia elements. The ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams is crucial, as it ensures the creation of cohesive and effective learning products.

Daily responsibilities will include collaborating with subject matter experts to design and develop digital learning content, utilizing e-authoring tools to create interactive modules, and ensuring that all materials are aligned with instructional design principles and universal design for learning. The role also requires working closely with the production team to develop audiovisual elements, such as videos and podcasts, that enrich the learning experience.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop digital learning courses and modules using e-authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, or Adobe Captivate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce multimedia learning products that include video, audio, and graphic design elements.
  • Ensure all learning materials are accessible and adhere to universal design for learning principles.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to develop content that meets learning objectives.
  • Utilize instructional design methods to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Manage the production of audiovisual elements, including video and podcast production.
  • Implement user experience and user interface design principles to enhance the learner's experience.
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of existing learning content.
  • Participate in quality assurance to ensure learning products meet high standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in digital learning and instructional design.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Graphic Design, Communication, Digital Media, or a comparable field.
  • Familiarity with at least one e-authoring tool (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Captivate).
  • Knowledge of learning theory, universal design for learning, and instructional design methods.
  • Experience with either graphic design or audiovisual production (video/podcast production).
  • Understanding of online learning platforms and management systems (e.g., Workday Learning).
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid turnaround times.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere.
