About the Role

The Digital Marketing Strategist position at GIG Group is a critical role that involves developing and managing digital marketing campaigns to engage with the public through social media and ensure a steady flow of visitors to digital sites. This role is crucial for the company's online presence and requires a skilled professional who can analyze and report on visitor data, devise new ways to market products, and oversee social media strategies. The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic team and will report to a senior manager.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include managing and maintaining the organization's website(s), writing and optimizing content for the website and social networking accounts, and tracking and analyzing website traffic flow. The candidate will also be responsible for providing regular internal reports and making recommendations for improvement. A deep understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the ability to continually work on improving the website's SEO are essential for this role.

In the context of the Nigerian market, this role is particularly challenging and exciting. The candidate will need to have a good understanding of the local market trends and be able to develop strategies that cater to the needs of the Nigerian audience.

What You Will Do

  • Engage with the public through social media to ensure a steady flow of visitors to digital sites
  • Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns across various platforms
  • Analyze and report on visitor data to devise new ways to market products
  • Oversee a social media strategy that aligns with the company's goals
  • Manage and maintain the organization's website(s) to ensure they are up-to-date and user-friendly
  • Write and optimize content for the website and social networking accounts such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Track and analyze website traffic flow using tools like Google Analytics
  • Provide regular internal reports and make recommendations for improvement
  • Continually work on the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) of the website(s) to improve visibility
  • Identify new trends in digital marketing and evaluate new technologies to ensure the brand is at the forefront of industry developments
  • Create online banner adverts and oversee pay per click (PPC) ad management
  • Write copy for email marketing campaigns to engage with the target audience

What We Are Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a professional marketing qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital communications and marketing or a similar role
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools, including MS Excel
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience with website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, or other graphic design tools
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Familiarity with ad serving tools like DART or Atlas
