Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Vendor Management is a critical leadership role at Ensemble Health Partners, responsible for developing and implementing the company's vendor management strategy. This includes leading cross-functional teams, managing vendor relationships, and driving business outcomes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and experience in managing complex vendor relationships.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Vendor Management will work closely with operational and executive leaders to optimize vendor performance, mitigate risk, and enhance overall business outcomes. This will involve establishing and maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with service level agreements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The Director of Vendor Management will also be responsible for managing vendor-related risk, ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements. This will involve collaborating with finance to oversee vendor budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization, as well as leading negotiations and supporting contract management activities.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of the company's vendor management strategy
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with service level agreements and contractual expectations
  • Monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and outcomes
  • Partner with operational and executive leaders to identify opportunities to leverage vendor partnerships for scalability and performance improvement
  • Develop and enforce governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance dashboards
  • Manage vendor-related risk, ensuring compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with finance to oversee vendor budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization
  • Lead negotiations and support contract management activities as needed
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Develop and manage vendor performance metrics and benchmarks

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in vendor management, operations, or related leadership roles
  • Experience managing complex vendor relationships in healthcare, revenue cycle, or outsourcing environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at a senior level
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of driving performance improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with contract management and vendor governance
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and revenue cycle management
