Job Description
About the Role
The Director of Business Development & Procurement will lead essential initiatives across USA TODAY Co.'s enterprise, primarily operating in a remote setting.Responsibilities
- Early-Stage Scoping & Strategy: Confirm budget and strategic requirements for deal planning. Engage in discussions with key stakeholders. Build relationships with executives.
- Vendor Identification, Engagement & Evaluation: Evaluate quotes, aid in vendor selection, and assist in the onboarding process while identifying risks.
- Internal Alignment & Approvals: Collaborate with various internal teams to secure status approvals and navigate decision-making processes.
- Contracting & Execution: Negotiate contracts for initiatives and foster collaboration to resolve issues faced during execution.
- Compliance, Governance & Ongoing Vendor Management: Ensure compliance with policies, manage ongoing vendor relationships, and address operational problems as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or related disciplines; advanced degrees preferred.
- 7-10 years’ experience in business development or procurement.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, along with the ability to manage confidential information effectively.

- Advanced knowledge of emerging technologies, particularly in digital and AI sectors.
