About the Role

The Director, Campaign Planning (Fundraising) is a pivotal role at the National MS Society, responsible for designing and advancing comprehensive campaign planning efforts across all revenue lines. This strategic leader will serve as a central connector between Development, Finance, and Marketing & Communications, ensuring a unified and data-informed campaign strategy. The role involves operating as the 'integrator' of campaign priorities, bringing together multiple fundraising channels into a cohesive plan that maximizes organizational impact and revenue outcomes.

As a key member of the Development team, the Director will partner closely with Development leadership, Donor Relations, and Development Operations to translate campaign strategy into clear plans, timelines, and performance tracking mechanisms. The ability to coordinate campaign execution, monitor progress, and ensure alignment across stakeholders is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Develop an integrated campaign planning framework that aligns all revenue streams into a cohesive, multi-year campaign strategy
  • Convene and align leaders across Development functions to ensure coordinated planning and execution
  • Translate enterprise fundraising goals into clear campaign plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Serve as the primary liaison across Development, Finance, and Marketing & Communications to align campaign priorities, messaging, and revenue projections
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications to ensure campaign positioning, messaging, and audience strategies are consistent and coordinated across channels
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure campaign budgets and projections are accurately integrated into the organizational budget
  • Monitor campaign progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet goals and milestones
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure campaign success
  • Ensure campaign plans are data-informed, using analytics and insights to guide decision-making

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in campaign planning, fundraising, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, including major gifts, planned giving, and corporate/industry partnerships
  • Experience in managing and coordinating cross-functional teams, including Development, Finance, and Marketing & Communications
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in working with remote teams and managing virtual collaborations
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the National MS Society

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CRM systems and fundraising software
  • Knowledge of digital marketing principles and online fundraising strategies
  • Certification in fundraising or a related field, such as CFRE
