Director, Design

About the Role

As part of the Product leadership team, the Director of Design will partner with the VP of Product to shape the long-term product vision and establish design standards and processes. This leader will build and mentor a high-performing design team across product design, UX research, and interaction design. The ability to foster a culture of design thinking and experimentation across the organization is essential.

What You Will Do

• Define and lead the design vision and strategy across TailorCare's products
• Build and evolve a cohesive design system and UX standards across patient and care team applications
• Ensure all products meet a high bar for usability, accessibility, and consumer-grade quality
• Lead design for TailorCare's end-to-end patient journey, including onboarding, intake, education, triage, engagement, adherence, and outcomes tracking
• Translate clinical workflows and patient needs into empathetic and intuitive digital experiences
• Design solutions that support behavior change, patient engagement, and improved clinical outcomes
• Integrate AI-assisted design tools to accelerate prototyping, iteration, and design exploration
• Partner with product and engineering to design AI-powered patient guidance experiences
• Collaborate closely with Clinical Operations and Care Teams to ensure digital experiences align with real-world care delivery
• Advocate for patient-centric design principles across the company

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or experience design
• 3+ years managing and leading design teams in a high-growth product environment
• Proven experience in designing consumer-grade healthcare products or consumer digital health products
• Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and design thinking methodologies
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to build and manage a high-performing design team
• Ability to communicate design vision and product experience clearly across leadership and stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted design tools and conversational interfaces
• Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
• Familiarity with design systems and UX standards
• Experience working in a remote-first company or distributed team environment
