About the Role
The Director Environmental Management will play a crucial role in developing and implementing environmental policies, standards, and programs aligned with the Global EHS Management System and strategy. This role entails collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, sustainability, and external stakeholders, to drive environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. The Director will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer and VP, Global EHS, and will be responsible for guiding regional EHS managers and site environmental managers on environmental matters.The role requires a deep understanding of global regulatory and legal requirements, as well as best practices in environmental management. The Director will be expected to stay up-to-date with changing environmental regulations and develop compliance guidance for regional and site EHS and operations leaders. With a focus on data-driven decision-making, the Director will direct Solventum's environmental and operational sustainability data management activities, partnering with key stakeholders to support ESG reporting and the development of environmental and sustainability metrics.

What You Will Do
- Develop and implement environmental policies, standards, and programs aligned with the Global EHS Management System and strategy
- Continuously monitor global regulatory and legal requirements, as well as best practices, to update global environmental policies and standards
- Direct Solventum's environmental and operational sustainability data management activities
- Partner with the Chief Sustainability Officer and VP, Global EHS on goal setting, project initiation and management, and program development
- Develop and/or execute strategies to address operational sustainability issues, including energy management, resource conservation, recycling, pollution prevention, greenhouse gas reduction, waste elimination, transportation, and facility design
- Guide and mentor regional EHS managers and site environmental managers on environmental matters
- Represent Solventum in communications and negotiations with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies
- Provide analysis of environmental regulatory changes and develop compliance guidance for regional and site EHS and operations leaders
- Provide technical support across all environmental aspects and media (air, water, waste, chemical management, etc.)
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management, with a focus on regulatory compliance and sustainability
- Proven track record of developing and implementing environmental policies and programs
- Experience with data management and analysis, including Excel and other software tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of global regulatory and legal requirements, as well as best practices in environmental management
- Experience with ESG reporting and sustainability metrics development
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Certification in environmental management, such as CEP or PEM
- Experience with environmental management systems, such as ISO 14001
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R
