About the Role

The Director, GSC Insurance Planning and Strategy plays a critical role in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for Assurant's logistics, repair, and distribution network. This involves overseeing the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) framework, ensuring collaboration across functional teams, and aligning operations with demand forecasting and supply planning. The goal is to drive process improvements, optimize stock levels, and enhance operational efficiency and profitability. The role requires a deep understanding of the organization's logistics and distribution networks, as well as the ability to analyze complex data sets to inform strategic decisions. The Director will work closely with senior executives, clients, and cross-functional teams to ensure that operations are aligned with business objectives and that customer expectations are met. As a leader in the organization, the Director will manage and mentor a team of directors and managers, providing career development and guidance to build a high-performing team.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and lead the strategy for logistics, repair, and distribution networks
  • Establish a robust demand planning and forecasting process that integrates with financial forecasts
  • Oversee the S&OP process, balancing supply and demand while addressing risks and opportunities proactively
  • Create capacity models to optimize resource utilization and balance supply with customer expectations
  • Ensure optimal stock levels and efficient inventory management across all regions and depots
  • Lead operational productivity analyses and identify optimization opportunities for the global inventory strategy
  • Develop and automate customer-based KPI reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze business and financial results to provide insights that guide strategic decisions
  • Monitor and enhance performance metrics to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Partner with internal teams, including procurement, forecasting, and business development, to align operations with demand planning
  • Work closely with clients and actuaries to forecast volume requirements and ensure alignment with client expectations
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in forecasting and inventory planning systems
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including pivot tables and trend analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proven ability to lead process improvements and cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP systems like Oracle, Great Plains, or similar inventory management platforms

Nice to Have

  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of S&OP processes and best practices
  • Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
