Job Description

## About the Role The Director of IT & Security at Octave is a pivotal role that oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's technological infrastructure and security posture. This position is critical in ensuring the company's rapid growth and maintaining rigorous compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic vision and technical expertise to lead the IT and security team to success.

Day-to-day, the Director will be responsible for managing systems, policies, and procedures that enable efficient and secure operations. This includes fostering a collaborative work environment, overseeing project planning and execution, and establishing operational processes to enhance productivity.

The Director will report to the senior leadership team and will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing IT and security organization. This will involve setting goals, providing guidance and feedback, and ensuring the team's overall success.

## What You Will Do - Develop, coordinate, and implement systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment - Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects and initiatives within the team - Establish and monitor operational processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity - Implement best practices, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop strategies to achieve operational excellence - Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant work environment - Build and manage a high-performing team, including hiring, training, and development - Provide leadership to the team, including setting goals/objectives, providing guidance/feedback, and ensuring the team's overall success - Identify skill gaps within the team and develop strategies for filling those gaps - Support employee development through training, mentoring, and coaching

## What We Are Looking For - 8+ years of experience in IT and security leadership roles - Strong technical expertise in security architecture, vulnerability management, and threat detection and response - Experience with HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance - Excellent leadership and management skills - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Experience with IT service management and project management

## Nice to Have - Experience with cloud-based security solutions - Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurity - Certification in IT and security, such as CISSP or CISM - Experience with data analytics and visualization tools
