About the Role

The Director of Engineering at MonetizeMore is a pivotal role that entails leading, scaling, and maturing the global engineering organization. This position is fundamental in fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and psychological safety within the engineering team. As the foundational leader, the Director of Engineering will oversee the development and implementation of the company's technical strategy, ensuring the platforms remain highly scalable, reliable, and secure.

The role involves managing a talented team of Engineering Managers and Software Engineers, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication. The Director of Engineering will partner closely with Product Management leadership to guarantee that engineering teams operate as empowered, cross-functional units focused on customer outcomes. This collaboration is crucial for driving the company's mission forward and ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives.

In this role, the Director of Engineering will also be responsible for driving the modernization of the development lifecycle. This includes integrating AI into development processes, establishing baseline metrics to measure development delivery efficiency, and ensuring the adoption of modern cloud architecture and distributed systems. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of these technologies and the ability to make informed decisions about their implementation.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse, fully remote engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and psychological safety.
  • Structure engineering pods for maximum autonomy and alignment, ensuring clear career ladders and effective succession planning.
  • Partner closely with Product Management leadership to ensure engineering teams operate as empowered, cross-functional units focused on customer outcomes.
  • Oversee the architectural integrity, security, and performance of the company's high-volume, low-latency ad tech infrastructure.
  • Balance the delivery of new features with the continuous modernization of the codebase, optimizing infrastructure costs.
  • Establish and monitor core engineering metrics to identify and eliminate development bottlenecks.
  • Lead the strategic adoption of AI-augmented development tools to eliminate developer toil and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Quantify the impact of modernization initiatives, demonstrating clear improvements in cycle times, deployment frequency, and overall delivery velocity.
  • Maintain robust data privacy, compliance, and security standards across all engineering operations.
  • Ensure high uptime and performance across all product lines, supporting a growing volume of global ad traffic.
  • Increase deployment frequency and reduce cycle times through process optimization and automation.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing engineering managers in a fast-growing SaaS, Ad Tech, or high-data volume environment.
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling highly aligned, culturally diverse, 100% remote engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of modern cloud architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with AI integration and AI-augmented development tools.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to foster a culture of technical excellence and psychological safety.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, compliance, and security standards.
