About the Role
The Director of EPC Transmission Line Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design and development of high-voltage transmission line projects. This is a senior leadership role that requires a deep understanding of electric transmission systems, as well as the ability to manage and motivate a team of skilled professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.The role will involve close collaboration with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered to meet their needs and expectations. The Director will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing proposals, and negotiating contracts.

What You Will Do
- Direct multiple design teams simultaneously, executing various projects and programs for multiple clients
- Develop and grow a team of engineers, providing training, coaching, and mentoring to help them achieve their full potential
- Supervise staff, approving timesheets and managing the annual performance review process
- Participate in the leadership team of the EPC Solutions Section, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
- Create responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs from clients, including proposal creation and scope definition
- Possess a growth mindset, fostering creative problem-solving and innovation within the team
- Promote continuous improvement, streamlining processes and developing new tools and techniques to enhance departmental technical resources
- Delegate tasks to staff, forecasting and planning their future workload, and managing recruiting activities to support aggressive growth goals
- Drive the quality control process, ensuring the highest level of quality in all deliverables
- Liaise with clients to maximise affinity, facilitate business development growth, and foster long-term relationship building
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (Civil Engineering is preferred)
- 12+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems (or 10+ years with a Master's degree)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience as a lead engineer or engineer of record on high-voltage transmission lines (500kV and below)
- Field experience or collaboration with transmission line construction contractors
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to serve as primary point of contact for existing and prospective clients
- Business acumen, with a record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics
Nice to Have
- Experience with PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations
- Knowledge of design-build and EPC project delivery methods
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules and budgets
- Experience with staff management and team leadership
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools
