Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Market Development at Beale Infrastructure will play a critical role in developing and executing comprehensive engagement strategies for key stakeholders, driving go-to-market strategies, and fostering positive public engagement for new data center projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of public policy, media relations, and community engagement within the technology and infrastructure sectors.

As a member of the Beale Infrastructure team, the Director of Market Development will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, public policy, and communications, to ensure seamless execution of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry associations, and community leaders, and will be able to work PEACEFULLY and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Director of Market Development will report to the SVP of Policy and Public Affairs and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic market development roadmaps to support business objectives and enhance project success.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the development team to lay the groundwork for successful approval of data center sites and suitable conditions for data center operations over the long term
  • Develop and implement strategic market development roadmaps to support business objectives and enhance project success
  • Foster strong relationships with local and state governments, industry associations, and community leaders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, industry associations, and community leaders
  • Support Public Relations and Communications teams on media relations, including proactive outreach, responding to inquiries, and developing press materials
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and community leaders
  • Develop talking points and communications plans for projects, including comprehensive presentations for local and state governments
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, speeches, and other communications to internal and external audiences
  • Manage third-party economic development incentive advisors to achieve client goals
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and communications plans for projects

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in market development, public policy, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of public policy, media relations, and community engagement within the technology and infrastructure sectors
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry associations, and community leaders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including development, public policy, and communications

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the technology or infrastructure sectors
