About the Role

The Director of Marketing & Growth, Domains, is a pivotal role at Squarespace, tasked with leading the marketing efforts for the company's domain registration services. With millions of customers worldwide, Squarespace has established itself as a major player in the domain registration market. This position offers the opportunity to shape the global marketing strategy, focusing on sustainable growth, enhanced channel performance, and expanded international presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for evolving the Domains product brand, aligning it more closely with Squarespace's core values of design excellence, clarity, and transparency.

Day-to-day, this role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with various departments, including marketing, product management, and analytics. The Director of Marketing & Growth will report to the Senior Director, Marketing - Domains & Applications, and will have the flexibility to work remotely from an approved US state or in a hybrid model from the NYC Headquarters.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy for Squarespace Domains, focusing on growth, brand visibility, and customer acquisition.
  • Refine and expand the Domains product brand, ensuring alignment with Squarespace's core values and enhancing its appeal to priority markets.
  • Strengthen and optimize partnership marketing programs with key organizations in the domains ecosystem, identifying new co-marketing opportunities and nurturing existing partnerships for long-term impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Squarespace's marketing teams, including media, lifecycle, and content, to enhance campaign effectiveness and optimize the shared-services operating model.
  • Work closely with Product Management to amplify product launches, refine messaging, and demonstrate value to both new and existing users.
  • Leverage data analytics to refine KPIs, expand testing programs, and drive ongoing optimization across acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Manage and allocate marketing spend efficiently, tracking performance against revenue, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), return on investment (ROI), and broader product-led growth goals.
  • Partner with Analytics, UX Research, and CRM to refine a cross-product introduction framework, aiming to increase adoption of additional Squarespace products and support customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 12 years of marketing experience, with a focus on growth, brand development, and partnerships, preferably in a B2C tech or SaaS company.
  • Proven experience in building and overseeing marketing budgets, allocating resources to high-impact channels and campaigns.
  • Ability to evaluate and build a roster of growth-focused partnerships for promotional and co-marketing programs that align with Squarespace brand values.
  • Deep understanding of organic and paid user funnels, with experience in owning programs that directly drive user acquisition.
  • Familiarity with performance marketing metrics (CPM, CPI, CPA, CPC, & LTV) and proficiency in using data for campaign optimization.
  • A proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, representing marketing with senior partners across Product, Finance, Business Development, and Analytics.
  • Experience in attracting, retaining, and developing outstanding marketing talent.
