About the Role

The Director of Quality Assurance at Comfrt is a pivotal role that entails building, scaling, and leading the company's global quality function. This senior leadership position is responsible for setting the strategic direction for quality across all product categories and global markets, ensuring that Comfrt's vendor base, particularly overseas manufacturing partners, meets and exceeds compliance and quality standards. The role involves working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Technical Design, and Retail Operations, to embed quality at every stage of the product lifecycle.

Given the rapid expansion of Comfrt across apparel, home textile, and lifestyle categories, as well as into new international markets and retail channels, this role is critical to maintaining the company's commitment to delivering high-quality products that reflect its brand promise of comfort, quality, and confidence. The Director of Quality Assurance will be at the forefront of driving quality initiatives and ensuring that all products, whether apparel or home textiles, adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Comfrt's global reach and diverse product portfolio mean that the Director of Quality Assurance must be well-versed in international quality standards, regulations, and best practices. This includes staying abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes across key markets such as the United States, European Union, Canada, Australia, and emerging international markets. The ability to proactively monitor and interpret these changes, assessing their impact on product development, sourcing, and labeling strategies, is crucial.

What You Will Do

  • Own and drive the global QA strategy, frameworks, SOPs, and compliance standards across all vendors, categories, and countries of production, spanning both apparel and home textile product lines.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing QA team, both internal staff and external partners, to support Comfrt's rapid global expansion.
  • Establish scalable QA infrastructure and systems capable of supporting significant growth across new product categories and international markets.
  • Influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain quality as a core pillar of Comfrt's brand promise.
  • Define and track KPIs for quality performance across the global supply chain, with regular executive reporting.
  • Serve as Comfrt's subject-matter expert on apparel and home textile quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all key international markets.
  • Proactively monitor and interpret evolving regulatory landscapes, assessing their impact on product development, sourcing, and labeling strategies.
  • Partner with Legal, Sourcing, and Product Development to ensure compliance is built into every product from inception.
  • Lead international labeling strategy, including care labels, fiber content disclosure, country of origin, flammability warnings, and multilingual requirements.
  • Develop and enforce compliance programs aligned with the requirements of major retail partners.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the apparel or home textile industry, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of international quality standards, regulations, and best practices, including but not limited to CPSC, ASTM, CPSIA, FLSA, CA Prop 65, REACH, GPSD, Textile Labeling Regulation, and EN safety standards.
  • Experience with quality management systems, auditing, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.

  • Experience working with global supply chains and managing vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in quality assurance and manufacturing.
  • Certification in quality management, such as CQA or CQE.
  • Experience with compliance software and systems.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, particularly those relevant to Comfrt's international markets.
