About the Role

The Director of Sales Enablement and Development at NerdWallet is a pivotal role that requires a unique blend of sales acumen, leadership skills, and data-driven decision making. As a key member of the sales organization, this individual will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing sales team, driving measurable performance outcomes, and continuously evaluating and improving sales effectiveness. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of sales execution and a proven track record of improving sales performance.

Day-to-day, the Director of Sales Enablement will partner closely with sales leadership and recruiting to ensure the sales team is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. This will involve designing and implementing a comprehensive sales enablement strategy, defining and reinforcing performance standards, and continuously assessing and improving sales effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be highly accountable, data-driven, and passionate about elevating sales performance through practical, results-oriented enablement.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement a sales enablement strategy focused on measurable performance outcomes
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance sales skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with recruiting to refine hiring profiles and selection processes
  • Identify candidates with strong sales execution capabilities and use performance data to continuously improve hiring criteria
  • Develop onboarding programs that accelerate time-to-productivity and create structured ramp plans with clear milestones and expectations
  • Facilitate call reviews, deal analysis, and skill-building sessions to coach and develop sales talent
  • Provide direct, actionable feedback to improve performance and support underperforming reps with targeted development plans
  • Leverage data to drive results, monitoring key metrics such as conversion rates, pipeline progression, and activity levels
  • Identify performance gaps and implement solutions, building playbooks based on proven best practices
  • Scale best practices, identifying behaviors and strategies used by top performers and translating insights into repeatable frameworks and tools
  • Equip sales managers with coaching frameworks and tools, strengthening accountability and performance management practices
