About the Role

The Director of Sales – US Commercial Space is a critical role at Kepler, responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across the US commercial space sector. This position requires a strategic vision and hands-on execution, particularly in early growth stage market environments. As a key member of the sales team, you will own the development and commercial growth of key Kepler services, working closely with cross-functional teams to execute go-to-market strategies and drive sales execution.

Kepler's mission is to provide real-time Internet access for space-based assets, enabling a new era of data-driven exploration and innovation. With 33 satellites launched to date, Kepler operates the first commercial optical data relay constellation, enabling real-time, continuous space communications while supporting advanced on-orbit compute and hosted payload capabilities. As a Director of Sales, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion, while also providing market feedback to Product and Engineering to shape product roadmaps and features.

What You Will Do

  • Scale Kepler's US commercial sales across commercial and government sectors
  • Own revenue growth, pipeline development, forecasting, and sales execution
  • Execute go-to-market strategy, positioning, and commercial transactions for Kepler services
  • Provide market feedback to Product and Engineering to shape product roadmap, features, and service offerings based on market demand
  • Act as the voice of the customer, translating user needs into product and business strategy
  • Build and manage key customer and partner relationships across the US space ecosystem
  • Lead sales teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sales execution and revenue growth
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and expansion in the US commercial space sector
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, while also expanding existing customer relationships

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the space tech or a related industry
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and sales execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong understanding of the US commercial space sector, including key customers, trends, and market dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and sales plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze market data and provide insights to inform sales strategies
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales tools, with the ability to manage sales pipelines and forecasting
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, engineering, or computer science

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Familiarity with Excel and other sales tools and software
  • Certification in sales or a related field, such as a CRM certification
