## About the Role The Director of Supply Chain at STR is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the company's procurement function. This role entails providing direction and oversight for all procurement activities, from planning to closeout, ensuring compliance with company policies, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). As a key member of the Contracts and Supply Chain team, the Director of Supply Chain will work closely with various stakeholders to drive process improvements and support the company's mission. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans, negotiating agreements with suppliers, and managing a team of procurement professionals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence. The Director of Supply Chain will report to the senior leadership team and will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business, technical, and functional stakeholders. ## What You Will Do - Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all direct and indirect procurement activities - Develop and negotiate strategic agreements with suppliers to leverage purchasing power and secure quantity discounts - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team - Oversee a secure supply chain, including due diligence, supplier qualification, and source selection processes - Direct complex negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors - Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate sourcing and supply chain risks - Oversee supplier sourcing for new opportunities, including supplier/teaming strategy and evaluating supplier proposals - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure execution of company needs and requirements - Develop and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence - Manage and analyze procurement data to inform strategic decisions ## What We Are Looking For - 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field - Proven track record of leadership and team management - Deep understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) - Exceptional negotiation and communication skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Excel and other procurement software - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities - Strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement - Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, logistics, or supply chain management ## Nice to Have - Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment - Familiarity with cloud-based procurement software - Certification in supply chain management, such as CPSM or CSCP - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools ## Benefits and Perks - Competitive salary and benefits package - Opportunity to work with a growing and dynamic company - Collaborative and supportive team environment - Professional development and growth opportunities - Flexible remote work arrangements - Access to cutting-edge procurement software and tools - Comprehensive health insurance and wellness programs - Generous paid time off and holiday policy
