About the Role
The Director of Technology at INFUSE will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technology strategy and execution roadmap, focusing on delivering secure, AI-native products on a modern stack. This position entails leading and developing engineering leaders and teams, driving architecture and engineering standards, and building an AI-native engineering culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior technology leadership, with experience in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and microservices.As a key member of the INFUSE team, the Director of Technology will be responsible for owning the technology strategy and execution roadmap, ensuring delivery predictability, quality, and performance. They will lead and develop engineering leaders and teams, hiring, onboarding, setting goals, managing performance, coaching, and defining career ladders. The role also involves driving architecture and engineering standards for the company's stack, including Node.js, NestJS, pnpm, esbuild on the backend, and React, Vue 3, Vite, pnpm on the frontend.
The Director of Technology will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-native products and platforms, with a focus on secure SDLC, risk management, incident response, and stakeholder communication. They will also be responsible for raising security and compliance maturity, including threat modeling, secure SDLC, dependency management, access control, secrets management, vulnerability remediation SLAs, and audit readiness.
What You Will Do
- Own the technology strategy and execution roadmap across backend and frontend
- Lead and develop engineering leaders and teams, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, coaching, and career ladders
- Drive architecture and engineering standards for the company's stack
- Build an AI-native engineering culture, identifying and delivering high-impact AI use cases
- Set patterns for safe AI adoption and define developer workflows for rapid iteration with appropriate governance
- Own edge and security posture with Cloudflare, ensuring resilience, observability, and incident readiness
- Raise security and compliance maturity, including threat modeling, secure SDLC, and vulnerability remediation
- Establish modern engineering operations, including delivery metrics, technical debt management, CI/CD expectations, release management, and post-incident reviews
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, owning outcomes across multiple teams
- Distributed systems, event-driven architecture, Kafka, microservices, and contract and version governance experience
- Strong hands-on background with modern backend development, including Node.js in production environments
- Experience leading frontend engineering in a modern framework, with solid understanding of modern build and tooling practices
- Demonstrated ability to deliver AI-native products and platforms, with practical experience with LLM-enabled workflows and safe adoption patterns
- Working knowledge of Cloudflare services and edge/security concepts, with ability to incorporate them into a secure architecture
- Strong security mindset and experience improving security maturity, including secure SDLC, risk management, and incident response
Nice to Have
- Experience with NestJS, pnpm, esbuild, and Vite ecosystem
- Knowledge of performance tuning and developer experience
- Familiarity with modern engineering standards and best practices
