About the Role
As a Director, People Business Partner at Affirm, you will play a critical role in driving organizational change and talent strategy. You will partner with senior leaders to shape the future of the workforce, driving initiatives that enable high performance and foster a culture of inclusivity and growth. Your expertise in organizational design, leadership development, and talent architecture will be essential in guiding complex people initiatives and scaling culture.The People Team at Affirm is dedicated to attracting, developing, and supporting exceptional talent across the organization. As a key member of this team, you will help drive the employee experience through strategic people programs, talent acquisition, learning and development, total rewards, people operations, and business partnership. Your ability to think strategically and operate tactically will be crucial in building scalable processes, fostering a high-performing culture, and equipping leaders and employees with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
What You Will Do
- Take the lead in driving large-scale organizational change initiatives across the Engineering Org, partnering with senior leadership to manage transitions and ensure smooth integration.
- Drive leadership development initiatives, including executive coaching and succession planning, to ensure a robust and diverse leadership pipeline.
- Oversee the facilitation and strategic alignment of all talent development programs, working with internal teams to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Develop and implement targeted interventions to improve organizational effectiveness, employee satisfaction, and overall workforce experience.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive organizational alignment, ensuring that business strategies are supported by effective talent, leadership, and people practices.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, coaching them on complex people challenges, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Partner with senior executives and leadership teams to execute forward-thinking talent strategies that support business growth and drive high performance.
- Work in close partnership with the broader People team to drive organizational culture initiatives that reinforce a high-performance mindset and foster employee engagement.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in a people business partner or similar role, with a proven track record of driving organizational change and talent strategy.
- Expertise in organizational design, leadership development, and talent architecture, with the ability to think strategically and operate tactically.
- Strong coaching and advisory skills, with experience in executive coaching and succession planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to drive organizational alignment and support business growth.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decisions and interventions.

- Experience working in the fintech or financial services industry, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry trends.
- Certification in organizational design, leadership development, or a related field, such as OD, HR, or business administration.
