About the Role

The Director, People Operations at Miva, Inc. is a pivotal role that combines strategic vision with hands-on operational expertise. As a key advisor to the executive team, this individual will be responsible for leading the full human resources function, including designing and executing people programs that strengthen the company culture, drive business performance, and deliver an exceptional employee experience. Given Miva's fully remote setup, the ability to build and maintain a strong, connected culture across a distributed workforce is paramount.

The role's success will be measured by the ability to drive engagement, belonging, and overall employee satisfaction, as well as to develop and implement effective people strategies that align with the company's goals. The Director will work closely with the CEO, President, and other executive team members, providing counsel on workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, and talent strategy. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, but it will involve providing oversight and direction to a part-time Recruiter consultant.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable navigating the nuances of a remote work environment, possesses a deep understanding of HR principles and practices, and can operate with a high degree of independence and discretion. What You Will Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, President, and executive team on workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, and talent strategy.
  • Steward and evolve Miva’s culture, leading programs that reinforce engagement, belonging, and the overall employee experience in a fully remote workforce.
  • Own the total rewards strategy, including compensation philosophy, market benchmarking, benefits design, and 401(k) plan oversight.
  • Oversee the full-cycle recruiting strategy for all positions across the organization, ensuring a consistent and high-quality candidate experience.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and related programs, fostering an environment that values and celebrates diversity.
  • Define and report on key people metrics, including headcount, retention, engagement, time-to-hire, and compensation positioning, delivering data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Utilize HR systems and tools to ensure programs run efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to optimize HR workflows and elevate the quality of people programs.
  • Lead organizational change management initiatives, including reorganizations, role transitions, and growth planning.
  • Manage the HR budget and external vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Anticipate emerging people risks and opportunities, proactively recommending and implementing solutions.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on people operations, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful people strategies that drive business outcomes.
