About the Role
The Director of Product Management at Imply is a critical leadership role, overseeing the development and strategy of Imply Lumi, the industry's first observability warehouse. This position involves shaping the product vision, defining customer needs, and driving the roadmap for Lumi. As a key member of the product team, the director will collaborate closely with co-founders, the Chief Product Officer, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to ensure the successful launch and continuous improvement of Lumi.Day-to-day, the director will be deeply involved in understanding customer problems, developing and executing product strategies, and ensuring that Imply Lumi meets the evolving needs of its users. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills, as the director will not only manage a team of product managers but also be the face of the product area for both internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Define and evolve the roadmap for Imply Lumi, ensuring it aligns with customer needs and company goals.
- Meet regularly with customers and prospects to understand their challenges and identify opportunities for growth.
- Work closely with the founders and CPO to set product direction and vision.
- Drive the launch of new products, capabilities, and features, focusing on customer impact and adoption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and go-to-market, to deliver complex features.
- Become the subject matter expert and face of Imply Lumi for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and grow a team of product managers, providing coaching, guidance, and support for their professional development.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends in observability and security data.
- Write specifications and drive delivery of product features, working hands-on with the team.
- Analyze customer feedback and market data to inform product decisions and improvements.
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in B2B software with a focus on infrastructure, observability, security, or data platforms.
- Strong technical fluency, with the ability to navigate architecture discussions and evaluate trade-offs in scalability, latency, and cost.
- Experience working with complex distributed systems or backend services for data ingestion, storage, and access.
- Proven track record of taking technically complex features to market, with high customer impact and adoption.
- Clear and concise communication skills, able to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for customer problems and a curiosity-driven approach to product development.
- Experience in managing and growing a team of product managers, with a focus on their development and success.

- Experience with Salesforce and Excel, particularly in analyzing and presenting data insights.
- Familiarity with observability and security data platforms, and the challenges associated with them.
