About the Role

The Director of Product Management at Twilio is a pivotal role that involves leading the phone numbers product team. This team is at the forefront of enabling communications for hundreds of thousands of businesses and empowering millions of developers worldwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering on the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Twilio’s phone numbers products, ensuring alignment with Twilio’s global growth strategy, regulatory needs, and scalable operations.

Day-to-day, the Director of Product Management will collaborate closely with various teams across Twilio, including GTM, Legal, and the rest of the Communications Product teams. This collaboration is crucial to ensure that the strategic direction and market opportunities are aligned and that the products meet the needs of Twilio’s customers. The role also involves managing a global team of product managers, mentoring them to succeed in building and executing on the vision, and being the voice of the customer in every conversation and decision.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and drive the strategy and roadmap of Twilio’s phone number products, taking into account Twilio’s global growth strategy, regulatory needs, and scalable operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, Legal, and the rest of Communications Product teams to ensure alignment on the best strategic direction and market opportunities.
  • Launch innovative phone number products from the infrastructure layer up and lead critical new initiatives for Twilio that open up new markets.
  • Be the voice of the customer in every conversation and decision, ensuring that world-class products are built that customers love and value.
  • Manage a global team of product managers and mentor them to succeed in building and executing to the vision.
  • Understand the needs of Twilio’s customers and build products that solve those needs at a global scale.
  • Work cross-functionally to understand phone number needs and enable customers to get numbers when and wherever they need them.
  • Take Twilio’s Communications business to the next level of growth, while working with some of the world's leading organizations.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with Twilio’s overall business strategy.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 10+ years of Product Management or related experience building customer-facing cloud products for businesses (B2B) or developers.
  • Experience growing a team of product managers and mentoring them to succeed.
  • Strong understanding of the communications and cloud industries, with a focus on phone numbers and messaging.
  • Ability to develop and drive the strategy and roadmap of complex products.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with various teams, including GTM, Legal, and engineering.
  • Strong customer-centric approach, with the ability to be the voice of the customer in every decision.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and a data-driven approach to product development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Experience working in a remote-first environment and leading distributed teams.
