About the Role
The Director, Sales Business Partner role at Twilio is a strategic leadership position that requires a unique blend of sales acumen, business operations expertise, and collaborative mindset. As a key member of the sales leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and scaling a team of Sales Business Partners who serve as the right-hand to sales leaders across the organization. Your team will act as strategic advisors and hands-on business operations managers, supporting sales leaders in running and planning their businesses. This role is critical to ensuring alignment between sales strategy and execution, fostering collaboration across teams, and driving operational excellence that accelerates growth and delivers measurable results.Twilio is a remote-first company, and this role is no exception. You will be working closely with a distributed team of sales leaders, sales business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes. What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a team of Sales Business Partners, establishing role clarity, consistency, and clear goals to deliver proactive, strategic impact for GTM success
- Build a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and growth
- Instill a “think like a salesperson” approach, ensuring your team is aligned and in-tune with the sales leader's needs, challenges, and opportunities
- Serve as the Sales Business Partner to a multi-billion dollar business, delivering hands-on strategic leadership and support
- Develop and execute business strategies to address risks, obstacles, and opportunities
- Translate strategy into actionable operational plans and execute
- Voice of sales in cross-functional initiatives
- Execute operational cadences, manage forecast and pipeline health, and drive sales process improvements
- Collaborate with peer sales operations functional leaders and company-wide cross-functional teams
- Drive sales-first mindset within your team, instilling a deep understanding of sales processes, GTM strategies, and operational goals
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in sales strategy, planning, and operations roles at an enterprise scale
- 5+ years of experience leading high-performing teams
- Deep GTM knowledge and experience partnering with senior sales executives in the software/tech industry
- Strong business operations management skills, with experience in sales process improvement, forecasting, and pipeline management
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
- Ability to navigate complex sales organizations and build strong relationships with sales leaders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision making
- Experience with sales tools and technologies, including CRM, sales automation, and sales analytics

- Certification in sales operations or business analytics
- Experience with Agile methodologies and lean principles
